Throughout human history, human need have becomes more complex. It may be more complicated in the future. It is a fact that human beings who have fulfilled only the basic need are not satisfied with that basic opportunity. Below I present how to start from the initial stage and extend to the fulfillment of complex needs.
One theory that
demonstrates this is the Maslow's hierarchy.
Maslow's
hierarchy of needs is an idea psychology purposed by Abram Maslow in 1943
paper “A theory of Human Motivation” in the journal psychology
review. (Maslow's hierarchy of needs - Wikipedia, 2021)

Abram Maslow point out five instants
in this case.
- Physiological needs
- Safety needs
- Love and
Belonging
- Esteem
- Self-actualization
Maslow’s hierarchy
is often shown as a pyramid. The lowest levels of the pyramid are made up of
basic needs, while the more complex ones are at the top of pyramid.
At the
bottom of the pyramid are basic physical needs such as food, water sleep &
warmth. Once these lower level requirements met, people want on to the next requirement
safety & security. As the pyramid continues to rise, feelings of personal
dignity and achievement take precedence, like Maslow emphasized the importance
of self-actualization as a process of growing as an person to achieve
individual potential.
Just be case
an employee is paying salaries does not satisfy an employee’s satisfaction. HR
activities are also responsible for employee satisfaction.

Every human working for satisfaction and it may vary with human beings, cultural and social parameters. everyone happy with their fulfillment of needs. in the organization, HR should responsible for employee satisfaction.
ReplyDeleteAs you mentioned above, Maslow developed his theory based on observation, which according to some scientists, results in a concept that is lacking in scientific rigor.
ReplyDeleteAdditionally, Maslow’s theory is culturally biased. The physiological and safety needs seem to be universal, but the other levels reflect Western values and ideologies — other cultures may value the higher levels in an order that does not match the one presented by Maslow.
Finally, there’s an unspoken of acceptance that the hierarchy is fixed — one must meet the needs in the order specified. However, this is an idea that is reinforced by the pyramid imagery, which was not included in the original paper. Maslow himself emphasized that the order is not rigid. There’s some fluidity between the levels, and people may move between levels based on circumstances
One of the main concern of job satisfaction is '' individual factors ''
ReplyDeleteWhile the organization external environment and the nature of job are determinant factors in job satisfaction, individual traits and characteristics also play an important role in it. Individuals who generally have negative attitude always complain about everything that is job related regardless of which job is in question. Also, some personality characteristics increase job satisfaction. In addition, individuals who are placed in hierarchy of higher level needs will have more job satisfaction.
In this regard, there are different tools and methods to assess JS by examining following methods and tools.
1) Self-reported grading scale
2) Sensitive events (critical incidents)
3) Explicit behavior
4) Practical orientation
5) Scale emoticon
6) Interview
7) Scale and a questionnaire
